FAQs - Answer
Q: What is a zip file?
A: A zip file can be thought of as folder that
contains other files. It also compresses the files it contains to
reduce the overall size of the zip file. When the zip file is "unzipped",
the files are uncompressed and can be used as normal. Zip files
are often used to download files from the internet, since smaller,
compressed zip files are quicker to download.
You must have a program on your computer capable of "unzipping"
zip files if you want to use the contents of the zip file. An example
of a program that can zip and unzip files is Winzip.
